The environmental research that research institute conducts focuses on environmental effects occurring in the atmosphere as a consequence of the production and consumption of energy. With the research we do, we develop knowledge and help answer policy questions, in particular for the following topics: Distribution of pollutants in the atmosphere; Climate change through greenhouse gasses and particulates; Characterisation of particulates;
Our research projects are relevant for: Policy preparation; Translating EU standards and guidelines into Dutch policy; Predicting the effect of measures; Assessing the effect of measures; Development and standardisation of measurement methods; Development and distribution of scientific knowledge.
