Applications of electromagnetic field modelling

The need for modelling and interpreting electromagnetic fields arises in all disciplines of electrical engineering.
Research on antennas and antenna arrays. The common aim of these projects is to enhance existing modelling techniques so that they can be applied in the design of conventional and new antenna concepts.
Providing a feasible alternative for “prototyping”. Computer-aided synthesis of antennas.
Analysis of electromagnetic fields in waveguiding configurations. Modelling methods are developed to analyse and test wave-guiding structures on a wide range of length scales. Numerical modelling of optical waveguides, in particular single-mode fibers, comprises an important part of the research.
