Research in this themes focuses on the interactions between the water motion, sediment transport and bottom changes in coastal seas and estuaries. Sandy and mud-dominated coastal systems are investigated. To gain more understanding of hydrodynamic and morphodynamic processes like collection and analysis of field observations, simulations and interpretation of the results and development and analysis of idealized mathematical models.
