Most vessels are too much restricted in length by the supposed linear relationship between length and building cost. This has in general a negative influence on the performance of the craft. Increasing the length has a beneficial effect on performance and more in particular with fast ships. So with applying the concept the original boat design is increased in length considerably, say by 20% – 50%, without making any change on the other main dimensions, such as beam, depth etc. Without change in the functionality of the ship.
