The research effort in Foundation engineering is concerned primarily with the practical applications. The main thrust is in support of geotechnical engineering in the Netherlands, especially deep foundations in soft soils, the application of geotextiles and underground construction.
Research topics: Investigation into the soil behaviour around a displacement pile in sand during installation; Modelling of displacement piles.
