Intelligent molecular diagnostic systems

The objective of the program is to develop a complete system in which multi-analyte analytical chemistry will take place on microchips. The specific binding phenomena and specific catalytic reactions involved will result in optical signals. These optical signals will be detected, measured, and converted into chemical (concentration) data which will be used to support a decision-making process for the system under study.
Examples of application domains include the quality management of biotechnology processes, medical diagnostics, quality management in the food industry,environmental monitoring, epidemiology, forensic medicine, and high-throughput biochemical screening.
