Optical and laser remote sensing.

Optical and laser remote sensing is focusing on automated extraction of 2D and 3D geo-information for image data and laser data.
Research in optical and laser remote sensing focuses on the acquisition of image and range data from terrestrial, airborne and space-borne platforms, on automated extraction of spatial information (2D and 3D), and on the representation and visualization of this information.
The data are recorded by remote sensing, using sensors, such as cameras and laser devices, on static and mobile platforms on the ground, but also on platforms in the air and in space. The sensors can be sensitive to a large range of wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. Airborne laser altimetry is a recent development in remote sensing with great potential for creating high resolution and accurate digital elevation models.
