Optical measurement techniques in burner applications

The aim of the research is to investigate laboratory-scale and practical combustion systems using (laser-diagnostic) measurement techniques.
Experiments are carried out on 1D flat and 2D Bunsen-type flames on slot-burners using LDV, PIV and PTV for velocity fields, LIF for qualitative OH densities and bi-directional LIF for quantitative OH distributions and temperature fields. Rayleigh scattering for measure densities (and temperatures). Burner-stabilised flames during transient phases of the central heating boiler operation. Noise in central heating equipment. Heat transfer by Oxy-fuel.
