Research institute is a world leader in R&D as far as the working, maintenance and asset management of offshore wind farms is concerned. Special tool (to calculate O&M costs and optimise strategies) has now been developed into the sector standard. Other, more advanced tools and products are available or are in the pipeline and will further help the industry to control these important assets and infrastructure. Wind energy predictions are conducted daily for onshore wind energy and R&D is carried out to considerably improve the prediction power of offshore companies and clusters by integrating information from weather and O&M. The effect of logistics for planning and maintenance is currently being investigated and a tool is being developed to calculate the effect of various installation methods on energy costs.
