Research on the study of the role and meaning of religion and faith in a multiform society and culture. Our specialisation focuses on Christianity and on the interaction between Christianity and other religions, especially Islam. Our point of departure is in the ways in which these religion manifest themselves in contemporary society and culture. We are interested in new forms religiosity. A good understanding of Christianity and Islam requires a thorough study of authoritative religious sources (such as the Bible and the Koran), of their interpretation and the resulting traditions, rituals, and patterns in society. At the same time, we pose critical questions concerning the rich traditions of these religions.
Bibllical studies . Liturgical and ritual studies. Studies into interreligiosity (especially the interaction between Christianity and Islam in a Western context). Studies of Christian ethics and care in an intercultural perspective.
