Service science

Service science is an emerging field without a globally accepted definition. This amalgamation of computer science, business and economics looks at the best way to serve society, companies and governments by using the right technology. Business and IT have complete different definitions of ‘service’. For the business it is anything that can be bought and sold. IT only looks at the part which can be performed on a machine and which communicates with other machines. However, the only way successful services can be designed is when both worlds understand each other. Models need to be completely correct from a business, economics and computer science point of view.
