Research field: Due to the liberalization in the aviation industry and globalization of the aerospace industry in the past decades, the airlines and the airports had to rationalize their programs and capacities as well. Within the boundaries of the environmental goals, the aviation industry has to develop new processes and aircraft related systems to cope with the growing customer demand causing congestion and inefficiencies in the airspace and airports. Aviation related systems and processes have to be looked at from an integral value system perspective. New systems on airlines, airports as well as aircraft have to be designed, from an integral cost and revenue perspective within a sustainable context.
