Thermal conversion processes of fuels

This subject concerns the production of synthesis gas, bio-gas (free of tars) and bio-oil (free of char particles). Chemical reactors are built in which the conversion processes are investigated, tested and demonstrated. Experimental research is supported by modeling; global modeling of the whole process as well as detailed modeling of the underlying physical-chemical processes.
Advanced biomass combustion. Biomass gasification in supercritical water. Development of a supercritical diesel. Flash pyrolysis of biomass in the PyRos-reactor. Green refinery feed. Ignition of municipal solid waste on a grate. Thermal stability of rotary kilns for the production of cement.
Torrefied biomass combustion under oxy-fuel conditions in coals fired power plants.
