Knowledge discovery and machine learning play an increasingly important role in biomolecular science, now that micro-array technology reaches maturity and genomes of different organisms are being published with increasing frequency. As a consequence, massive amounts of data are being (and will be) produced that contain important facts about living organisms.
Research focuses on topics such as biomarker discovery, feature selection and prediction; genetic network modelling, transcription factor models; integrating gene expression, protein interactions, GO ontology, motif search.
